MASS APPEAL Audience Participation Listings!

When we say, Performed by Anyone, Enjoyed by Everyone, we really mean it.
And for 2019 we’re putting together 11 opportunities for you to be a part of the music making.

100 HARMONICAS

Madison Children’s Museum, Rotary Plaza Stage, 100 N Hamilton St, 12:30-1:30 PM

Mr. Harmonica Man, DeWayne Keyes, returns to lead a lesson and a group performance. Free harmonicas for the first 100 participants!

 

DRUMMING JAM SESSION WITH ERIC DE LOS SANTOS

The Percussion Zone at Olbrich Beach Park, 3527 Atwood Ave, 5:30-6:15 PM

Join in the rhythmic jam session lead by marimbist, Eric de Los Santos.

 

FAMILY JAM

Lake Edge Park, 511 Park Court, 6:30 PM-7:30 PM

For kids of all ages and their families. Led by Eliza Tyksinski. Eliza is an experienced leader of music for children and families. Join her for singing and movement for all ages.

 

GOSPEL JAM SESSION WITH THE MT. ZION CHOIR

Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2019 Fisher St, 5-8 PM

Madison’s Premier Gospel Choir invites the music community to join in a 3-hour jam session singing covers and original gospel music. Most songs are charted for a brass ensemble, others include full orchestration. Full amplification and backline instruments are available. Spontaneity of songs and improvisation during songs will highlight the evening. Looking forward to 3 hours of Unity in the Community!!

 

GRANDDADDY’S HOOTENANNY

Lake Edge Park, 511 Park Court, 6:30 PM-7:30 PM

The family of Karl Davis of WLS fame share the music their family grew up on. Bring your instruments or sing along!

 

KIDS AND TEENS OPEN MIC!

Chris’s Front Yard on Yahara Place, 1824 Yahara Pl, 11:45 AM

Open stage with PA, two mics and keyboard. Kids, come on down and let’s hear you sing.

 

MADISON AREA UKULELE INITIATIVE (MAUI) SING-ALONG

Sequoya Library, 4340 Tokay Blvd, 4:30-5:30 PM

Willy Street Co-op, 1221 Williamson St, 7-8 PM

30 ukulele strummers lead community sing-alongs for all ages with familiar, popular songs from 1920’s to present.

 

MAKE MERRY MADISON OPEN MIC

208 Merry Street Backyard, 4-9 PM

Rounding up friends and all musicians welcome for an open mic in the backyard right off the Yahara.

 

OPEN MIC

The Soul Doctor Ranch, 2 Sumter Ct,1:45-3 PM

This time is available for those who want to participate but have not registered for the day. Don’t be shy, stop on by.

 

PUBLIC PIANO

Alumni Park, 724 Langdon St,11 AM- 3 PM

Stop by the public piano at Alumni Park to make your own music. Maybe even start your own sing-along! Also enjoy performances by world-renowned opera singer Prenicia Clifton at 1:15 and The Vince Sweeney Band at 3:15.

 

WINGIN IT BIRD BAND

Madison Children’s Museum, Rotary Plaza Stage, 100 N Hamilton St, 2-3 PM

Wingin It Bird Band plays Chicken Dance, Rockin Robin and other bird tunes on request! Kids sing and dance along with the Bird Band jukebox.
